America. Catholicism. I can’t believe that the use of contraception is still being debated. Between the GOP curbing women’s rights and now the catholic church making a fuss over medical coverage. I find it amazing that the same man - the archbishop of New York, Timothy Dolan - who is leading the fight against this medical coverage, has a blog in which he expresses his gratitude to the catholic league for writing a press release in which they openly trash a teenage victim of molestation. As if this isn’t disgusting enough, the letter goes on to say that the media makes too big of a deal of the churches problem with pedeophilia…that it isn’t the case because many of the cases of abuse are teenagers, not children. Fucking unreal. Read the blog post and user comments and be amazed at the lack of morality. “It’s not about “women’s rights”, it’s about “religious freedom”, they say. Actually, it’s about “religious freedom to stifle women’s rights”.”
